Status Update (chronological):
6.1.19 Update: Bid has been awarded to J. Stewart Excavating. More updates to follow...
6.26.19 Update: J. Stewart Excavating will begin work Monday July 1, 2019 in the intersection of Centennial Ave. and Grove St., it is anticipated that work in the intersection will take two days and will require daily road closures. Detours will be posted. An interruption of water service will also be required, and all affected customers will be notified.
Once work is completed in the intersection no work will take place over the holiday weekend and work will resume Monday July 8, 2019 on Grove Street between Centennial Ave, and Beaver St.. This work will require daily road closures and street parking will be restricted between the hours of 7 A.M. and 5 P.M.
A representative of Sewickley Water will be on-site daily during construction.
7.1.19 Update: Water service may be temporarily interrupted on Tuesday, July 2nd for work being done on Grove Street. Water will be shut off between 8 AM and 10 AM and will be restored as soon as possible. It is anticipated that the interruption will not exceed 6 hours. Please plan accordingly for this service interruption.
When water service is restored, if you experience a large amount of air in the line or discolored water, please run the COLD water at the faucet or spigot closest to where the water line enters the house. DO NOT RUN THE HOT WATER UNTIL DISCOLORATION HAS CLEARED UP.
7.13.19 Update: In the first six days of construction J. Stewart Excavating has completed installation of a new valve cluster in the intersection of Grove Street and Centennial Avenue and has installed 500 Feet of new 8-inch watermain from Beaver Street to Centennial Avenue. There will be one more day of construction in this section installing a hydrant and preparing the line for testing Monday July 15, 2019.
Starting Tuesday July 16, 2019 installation of new watermain will continue on Grove Street from Centennial Avenue to Backbone Road. There will be daily road closures with on street parking restrictions between 7 A.M. and 5 P.M. daily.
